Gravity Migrate: worth it for serious Gravity Forms migrations

Gravity Migrate is one of the rare WordPress migration add-ons that solves a genuinely awkward problem. Gravity Forms can export forms and entries, but a real production setup usually includes uploaded files, feed configurations, GravityView Views, Gravity Flow workflows, nested forms, calculations, and add-on settings. Gravity Migrate packages those related pieces into a ZIP export and lets you selectively import them on another site.

That makes it particularly useful for agencies moving a client from staging to production, rebuilding a site on a new domain, cloning a working application, or transferring a Gravity Forms project between environments. The selective controls are practical: you can choose forms, entries, uploads, Views, workflows, settings, or other supported data rather than copying everything blindly. It also supports WordPress multisite and provides WP-CLI commands such as wp gk migrate export and wp gk migrate import, which is a meaningful advantage for large sites and repeatable deployment processes.

The strongest feature is not the export itself; it is the preservation of relationships that are easy to break manually. Gravity Migrate can carry Gravity Flow workflows, Nested Forms parent-and-child data, GravityView Views, feed configurations, and file uploads. It also supports date-range limits for exported entries and password-protected exports. In its September 11, 2026 version 2.0 update, GravityKit added migrations between Gravity Forms and seven other form plugins, including WPForms, Formidable Forms, Fluent Forms, Ninja Forms, Forminator, Contact Form 7, and WS Form.

There are important limitations. Imports are non-destructive: if a form already exists, Gravity Migrate creates a copy instead of merging or updating it. Completed imports cannot be undone, so it is not a safe “try it and roll back later” tool. It also does not install the required add-ons on the destination site; Gravity Forms, GravityView, Gravity Flow, and other relevant plugins must already be present. Zapier feeds can migrate, but the Zap still needs its domain changed manually. The product page also says scheduled migrations are not supported.

File handling deserves extra care. Uploads may need to be fetched from the original site during import, so the source must remain reachable. GravityKit’s newer workflow can bundle uploads into the export, but hosting upload limits can still affect large files. For very large migrations, WP-CLI is preferable to relying entirely on a browser session.

Compared with Gravity Forms’ native export tools, Gravity Migrate is much more complete. Compared with GravityImport, it is the opposite kind of product: GravityImport loads CSV rows into existing forms, while Gravity Migrate transfers the form environment itself. Compared with Duplicator, WP Migrate, or All-in-One WP Migration, Gravity Migrate is narrower but better at preserving Gravity Forms-specific data without replacing the entire WordPress database.

At the listed standalone price of $99 per year, it is easy to justify for agencies or anyone who has already lost hours rebuilding feeds and form settings. For a single simple form, it is overkill. For a complex Gravity Forms application, it is a recommended specialist tool.
